Business Icons: Gwyneth Paltrow

Say Gwyneth Paltrow and so much comes to mind; movie star, Iron Man’s wife (kinda), consciously uncoupling – we all remember that one. But it can’t be denied that old Gwynny has carved herself out a niche in the business world. After making her name in the glam lights of Hollywood, it was in 2008 that Paltrow took a little detour and set up Goop. Launched as a “lifestyle brand” and starting off as nothing more than a weekly email newsletter, Goop has now become a lifestyle website worth $250 million. Not too shabby at all. It has caused some controversy in the past but it cannot be denied that Paltrow saw a space in the market and filed it up. In today’s society of wellness and fitness being top searches, it’s no wonder Goop has gone from strength to strength. Well done Gwynny!
